5.1.3 Installing Electrical Connection

According to the network or installation environment, you can use 10/100/1000Base-T in-

terface instead of the optical connection. The switch automatically recognizes MDI/MDIX

connectors defined in IEEE 802.3.

Use the following procedure when installing an electrical connection.

1. Cut the cables to length.

2. Label and mark the cables.

3. Route and stow the cable in the rack.

4. Install the cables in accordance with your cabling plan.

5. Connect the cable to a suitable electrical port.

Fig. 5.4 describes how to connect the cable to 10/100/1000Base-T interface.
